Description

Stout is most easily accessed via the Soderberg Open Space parking lot at Horsetooth Mountain Park. Head up Towers to Stout, which crosses over Towers. You can go either clockwise (left, south) or counter-clockwise (right, north).

The clockwise route has some climbs on the southern half, made challenging by loose rock (golf ball to baseball size). The southern half of the route is also singletrack in undulating hills, with fewer trees. The northern half of Stout is singletrack in the trees with short sections of rocks and tree roots.

The clockwise route can be made a loop by connecting short sections of Herrington Trail -> Towers -> Herrington Trail -> Loggers -> Sawmill Trail.
