Description

From Booth Road, the Pineapple Track climbs steeply past an old water treatment plant via a wide dirt path and gravel road. Beyond this rather inauspicious beginning, the trail becomes true singletrack and enters lovely forest, where it climbs steeply up the lower slopes of Flagstaff.

An intersection with McGouns Track offers a lovely short loop option. Pineapple continues uphill eventually rising above the tree line, where lovely views of Dunedin stretch out below. The trail climbs to "Pineapple Junction" where signs point the way to Flagstaff via the Flagstaff Walkway or toward the Swampy Ridge Track and Swampy Summit.
