Description

This incredible arch, located in the midst of Valley Forge, commemorates the private soldiers and officers who fought valiantly as part of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. The beautiful memorial was constructed in 1910 and was dedicated in 1917. The structure was designed by Paul Phillippe Cret and is reminiscent of the Triumphal Arch of Titus, located in Rome. Arches are historically erected to memorialize great rulers or military strategists, and the National Arch continues this tradition, honoring George Washington and the Continental Army.

History buffs of all ages will enjoy visiting the arch and learning more about General Washington's time in Valley Forge.

On the Road: Located between S. Outer Line Drive and Gulph Drive, there is a parking area where visitors can access the arch in a short distance.

Family Friendly: The history available just a short distance from the road or parking area makes this a good place for the whole family.
